Dr. Priyankar Sinha is a cardiac surgeon with an experience of over twenty four years in this field.

 

He practices at the Ahmedabad Heart Hospital and also provides services to other leading private hospitals in Ahmedabad.

 

After specializing from the KEM Hospital, Mumbai, he has trained extensively in renowned units both in India and the United Kingdom (UK).

 

He has worked at Bombay Hospital and Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. In the United Kingdom he has worked at the Southampton General Hospital, hospitals on the West Midlands Cardiac Rotation in Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent and Coventry and the Nottingham General Hospital. On returning home he practised at the U. N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research in Ahmedabad.

He has a general cardiovascular and thoracic practice performing coronary, valvular & congenital heart operations as comfortably as lung, thoracic and vascular surgeries. Having performed more than 9,000 cardiac, thoracic and vascular operations he is considered a skilled master of this specialty.

He has performed more than 4,000 Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) operations, using the conventional, beating heart, total arterial bypasses and minimally invasive techniques, and is an acclaimed master in this field.

 

His interest and skill in heart valve repair was instilled into him by the master surgeons in Paris, France, the UK, Italy, Belgium, Vietnam, USA and Thailand. He has been actively involved in the field of “Heart Valve Repair” for over a decade. Having performed more than 500 valve repairs, he has achieved eminence in this field. He is an established teacher for heart valve repair nationally and internationally. He has addressed many international and national cardiac surgery meetings on this topic and has demonstrated live surgery in teaching forums at international and national workshops. He is the only Indian cardiac surgeon who has conducted a structured training programme for fellow cardiac surgeons in heart valve repair.
